With the general provision "Identification of the simplified procedures for the information and the acquisition of consent for the use of cookies" (published in the Official Gazette n. 126 of 3 June 2014) the Guarantor for the Protection of Personal Data has identified methods simplified to provide users with online information on the use of cookies and has provided indications for acquiring consent, when required by law.
To protect the privacy of users and allow them to make more informed choices, the Guarantor has therefore established that, when you access the home page or another page of a website, a clearly visible wording must immediately appear, indicating:
- that the site uses profiling cookies to send targeted advertising messages (if used);
- that the site also allows the sending of "third-party" cookies, i.e. cookies installed by a different site through the site you are visiting (if used);
- a link to a more extensive information, with indications on the use of cookies sent by the site, where it must also be indicated how to disable the acceptance of cookies by the browser used;
- the indication that by continuing to browse (e.g. by accessing another area of the site or selecting an image or a link) you consent to the use of cookies.
What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that the sites visited send to the user's terminal (computer, tablet, smartphone, notebook), where they are stored and then re-transmitted to the same sites on the next visit.
They are used to perform computer authentication, session monitoring and store information on sites (without the use of "technical" cookies some operations would be very complex or impossible to perform). But through cookies it is also possible to monitor navigation, collect data on tastes, habits, personal choices that allow the reconstruction of detailed consumer profiles.
Technical cookies essential for the functioning of the website
This website uses session and persistent cookies, in order to offer a more efficient service to users. The use of these cookies is strictly limited to the transmission of session identifiers (consisting of random numbers generated by the server) necessary to allow the website's services and functions to be provided in a complete way.
The cookies used on the website avoid the use of other IT techniques potentially prejudicial to the privacy of users' browsing and do not allow the acquisition of data directly identifying the user. Interested parties who do not want to keep these cookies can delete them after browsing by simply going to the privacy settings of their browser and selecting the option to delete cookies.
As indicated by the Guarantor, technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of "carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or as strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or by the user to provide this service”; the Guarantor also indicates that "the users' prior consent is not required for the installation of these cookies".
Cookies used for aggregate analysis of website visits
This website makes use of aggregate analysis tools for navigation data which allow the website to be improved. In particular, Google Analytics, a system made available by Google Inc., uses cookies that are stored on the user's computer in order to allow the website manager to analyze how users use the site.
The information generated on the use of the site by the user will be transmitted and stored on Google's servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of tracking and examining the use of the website by the user, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity.

Third party cookies
By visiting a website you can receive cookies both from the site visited ("owners") and from sites managed by other organizations ("third parties"). A notable example is the presence of "social plugins" for Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn. These are parts of the visited page generated directly by the aforementioned sites and integrated into the page of the host site. The most common use of social plugins is aimed at sharing content on social networks.
The presence of these plugins involves the transmission of cookies to and from all sites managed by third parties. The management of information collected by "third parties" is governed by the relative information to which reference is made. This website makes use of third-party plugins which involve the sending of cookies indicated below. To ensure greater transparency and convenience, the web addresses of the various information are given for each one, from which it is possible to trace the methods for managing cookies.
